First Operation of the NFC-Nitrogen Foam Cementing Unit in Saudi Arabia

16 July 2026 marked an important milestone for STME with the successful first operation of the NFC unit in Saudi Arabia. The day began with a technology exchange session attended by the cementing experts from SRIPE, managers and technical specialists from TAQA, and representatives from STME. During the session, Mr. Abdallah Ghreizy presented Sinopec’s advanced cementing technologies, while Mr. Sun Wenjun presented Sinopec’s cement-related accessories and supporting technologies.

The technical exchange was highly productive, with TAQA’s cementing team expressing strong interest in several of the technologies presented and engaging in constructive technical discussions regarding their potential applications.

Following the technical exchange, a lunch session was held, providing an opportunity for further technical discussions and knowledge exchange among the participating teams. Several fruitful discussions took place, further strengthening the technical cooperation and understanding between the teams.

After completing the necessary logistics and preparations for the NFC operation, Dr. Ding Shidong, President of STME, and Mr. Moaathe Jardan, Operations Director of TAQA, officially inaugurated the NFC unit prior to the commencement of the yard test. Following the inauguration, the first operation of the NFC unit in Saudi Arabia was successfully conducted on 16 July 2026. The equipment performed as expected throughout the operation, demonstrating reliable functionality and validating its readiness for deployment and application in the Saudi market.

This successful operation represents an important milestone for Sinopec’s cementing technology deployment in Saudi Arabia and provides a strong foundation for further technical cooperation, field demonstrations, and potential applications with local industry partners.
