Not long ago, I had the privilege of being selected to participate in a technical exchange program at the Sinopec Petroleum Engineering Technology Research Institute in China, where I had direct contact with world-class researchers and gained an in-depth knowledge and practical experience in advanced oil well cementing technologies. I also visited the Nanchuan shale gas field located in the Sichuan Basin.

Located in Nanchuan District, Chongqing, the Nanchuan shale gas field is one of China’s first commercially developed unconventional shale gas fields. With its complex geological conditions and considerable resource potential, the successful development of the field fully demonstrates China’s technological exploration and practical achievements in the unconventional oil and gas sector.

After completing the technical tasks at the wellsite, our gracious host took us to experience authentic Chongqing cuisine, famous for its vibrant colors and rich spice aromas. What impressed me the most was the iconic spiciness, the strong and unique sensory storm on my tongue tip brought by Sichuan peppercorns.

Later, we also took time to visit the Shenlongxia Scenic Area in Nanchuan. It was a day of light rain, where fine drops fell steadily, wrapping the surroundings in a quiet, refreshing mist. where towering cliffs rise through drifting mist, and waterfalls cascade into emerald pools. Stone road tracks the rhythm of flowing streams, leading visitors through a landscape of lush greenery, sculpted rock, and sparkling streams.

During my trip to China, the real magnificence lies in experiencing the landscape and nature. A breathtaking symphony of natural wonders at every turn, and a hidden poem that has been delicately carved by time.
