To support the development of the Real-Time Operations Center (RTOC), Sinopec Tech Middle East (STME) recently conducted visits to the Behavior Empowerment Center (BEC) of Arabian Drilling Company (ADC) and the RTOC of Weatherford to gain insight into their establishment processes and operational challenges.
During the visit to ADC’s Behavior Empowerment Center, discussions focused on the journey of establishing the BEC and the challenges encountered. ADC shared that not all drilling rigs are overseen by the center and highlighted that key issues include C+++ certification requirements and the placement of monitoring cameras at rig sites.

At Weatherford’s RTOC, the delegation was introduced to their daily operational routines, HSE standards, risk management practices, and the AI technologies and software used to monitor and control various aspects of operations, including rig moves.

The visits provided practical reference for STME’s ongoing RTOC development by offering insight into the challenges and operational considerations involved in establishing and running such centers.
